The leading causes of death and disease in South Dakota adults is heart disease and cancer. Access to and the availability of resources to enrich the quality of life, social engagement, and health behavior patterns are affected by where people live, work, play, and learn. Strategic active partnerships using a multi-sector approach can yield new ways to build capacity and pool resources including data, skills, and knowledge to achieve healthier communities.
SLM Consulting, LLC is sponsoring an opportunity to come learn and engage from leading public health professionals from diverse sectors, including research, community, and healthcare on population health and why it is important. Panelists will discuss population health trends within their respective sectors, and highlight opportunities to engage in a multi-sector approach to improve population health. Panelists will underscore the factors that affect health beyond just health behaviors.
